Never Spec me again!

M-am plictisit de Spec. Urăsc Spec!
Nu te poți ascunde nicăieri de cereri Spec. De pildă, luni primesc o ofertă interesantă care zicea că mă contactează pentru că sunt „pe lista scurtă” a agențiilor de creație și că le-ar face deosbită plăcere (pentru că e șansă unică) să putem colabora. Pentru că am un portofoliu care le-a plăcut și experiență în domeniu, își permit, zice în mesaj, să mă contacteze direct pe e-mail.
Începe cu prezentarea (retailer în confecții) si câteva detalii ale proiectului (o colecție proprie 2011) continuă cu cerința (visual ID: logograma + key visual) și încheie cu mesajul „Design-ul de logo câștigător va primi 1000 EUR + TVA” (folosirea logo pe etichetă și toate materialele de marketing).

Pentru că acest client înțelege ce înseamnă croitorie mi-am permis să-i răspund așa:

„Bună ziua,
vă mulțumesc pentru apreciere.
Pentru că este cu siguranță un proiect unic la care am șansa să lucrez, am să încerc să răspund solicitării Dvs. cu o propunere pe care nu cred caă o puteți refuza.
Mi-ar plăcea ca prestigiosul atelier de confecții să-mi ia măsurile și să-mi facă câteva propuneri de sacou pe care să-l port la jeans. Dacă-mi va plăcea voi plăti 1000 Eur + TVA.
Pentru că d’Avid Boutique este un atelier de creație serios, trebuie să știți că dacă agreați această unică ofertă veți intra în competiție directă cu alte ateliere de confecții.
Dacă nu îmi va plăcea modelul sunt silit să nu răsplătesc timpul și efortul depus pentru crearea modelelor de sacou.
Dacă sunteți interesați vă rog să îmi trimiteți propunerile în format JPG pe aceeași adresă de email.
Vă mulțumesc.”
și ma semnez cu deosebită stimă.

Acest gen de contract Spec, în care unul dă totul și altul nimic, l-am facut o singură dată, nu l-am făcut nici când am plecat pe cont propriu acum 16 ani și nici nu-l voi mai face vreodată.

Aseară, colega Daniela mă întreabă dacă să accepte Spec. Oare cum să-i spun? Direct sau pe ocolite? ;)

Refresh your visual ID

It all started with a question, expanding the brief and feel the hired Form.
I recommended to inform the public intent of change the visual identity. In two days all turned into “spec work” and an avalanche of reproaches against the customer. Cool!

Always find attractive areas not find great resources for inspiration and puts me to be creative, you can invent something original. To create something unique today in the online industry, I find quite difficult. Online domein is more exposed and any “vision” is eroding fast. To look refresh and not refurbish, havent thought bugging but is must to remain in emotional memory. Pleasant and not harsh. Residual emotion and not a headache.

We started the game, then worked very seriously. We expect customer opinion.
The first vision is a tube that leaves a flower bud. Green, birth and rebirth, refresh … gotcha?

The second option is a relaxing view of a stream of news and views that come hot but they serve with pinacolada … archive 2.0 dot ro.

A third proposal is a rare flower sample. It is found only in a professional environment, with views and interesting projects, unique domain on the Internet archive dot ro.

Make an animated 3D pop-up book

There’s a resurgence in the popularity of all things vintage at the moment – from retro patterns to kids’ sweeties – and motion graphics is no exception. A series of recent bumpers created by the likes of Studio AKA
have used simple 2D cut-out shapes and characters to create lively scenes and stories.

Although many of these have been created using 3D software, there’s a surprising amount you can do in After Effects with little or no knowledge of 3D at all.
